Where is it located and what is its history?

This massive project is located specifically in the coastal district of Arroyo Barril, on the southern shore of the peninsula facing Samaná Bay. What makes this development even more special is its history of transformation. Port Samaná is being built through the conversion and modernization of an old commercial cargo dock founded in the 1970s, officially known as Puerto Juan Pablo Duarte (or simply Puerto Duarte). What was once an underutilized cargo facility is now being reborn as a state-of-the-art gateway for global tourism, capable of welcoming even the largest cruise ships in the world—including the famous Icon of the Seas, scheduled to arrive in May 2027!

• Xamana Village: Inspired by 20th-century explorers, this area is designed for pure relaxation, offering retail shopping areas, pools with swim-up bars, lounge zones, local gastronomy, and a dedicated marina.
