Step into the pages of history with this full-day cultural experience to Santo Domingo, the oldest European-founded city in the Americas. Discover the colonial charm, historical landmarks, and architectural gems of the Dominican Republic’s vibrant capital.
After hotel pick-up, we begin our journey toward the city, starting with a visit to Los Tres Ojos, a series of underground freshwater lakes in limestone caves. Then, we’ll drive by the Columbus Lighthouse and make a photo stop at the Presidential Palace before entering the Colonial Zone, where the past comes alive.
We’ll visit the Cathedral of Santa María la Menor — the first cathedral in the Americas — walk along the Calle de Las Damas, and enter the National Pantheon. The tour continues to the Plaza de España and the iconic Alcázar de Colón, where we’ll explore the home of Columbus’ son, Diego.
You’ll also visit a local gift shop and learn about larimar, a semi-precious stone unique to the Dominican Republic. After a buffet lunch with Dominican specialties, enjoy free time to stroll, sip local coffee, or take in the ocean view from the Malecón before returning to your hotel.
